Watch: Wife of Pahalgam terror attack victim bids emotional farewell to husband, navy lieutenant Vinay Narwal

NEW DELHI: As the nation mourns 28 lives lost in heinous terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday, navy lieutenant Vinay Narwal was paid respect at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Wednesday. In a heartwrenching video, his wife was seen weeping inconsolably while bidding an emotional farewell to her husband, who was killed in the attack.

"I hope his soul rest in peace. He lived a good life. He made us really proud, and we should keep this pride in every way," she said with trembling voice as she broke down.

According to news reports, the couple got married on April 16 and were holidaying in Pahalgam.


Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi paid a mark of respect by laying wreath at the mortal remains of Narwal at IGI where his body was brought from Kashmir.


Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta also paid homage to the Pahalgam terror attack victim. She was seen trying to comfort his wife.

His mortal remains will be taken to Haryana's Karnal. MLA Jagmohan Anand met his family in Karnal. Family members of late navy officer were seen weeping, hugging the MLA and begging with folded hands.

Earlier today, the Indian Navy, condemned the attack, extending condolences to the families of the victims.

"Adm Dinesh K Tripathi, CNS, and all Personnel of the Indian Navy are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Lt Vinay Narwal, who fell to the dastardly terror attack in Pahalgam. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family during this moment of unimaginable grief. The Indian Navy also stands in solemn solidarity with all others who lost their lives in this heinous act of violence," read a post by the Navy.
