Mangaluru: A man sustained injuries after he was attacked with a sword, when two miscreants arrived on a bike and assaulted him. The victim is Abdul Hameed. According to a complaint filed by Yasir Arafat, residing at Panemangalore village, Bantwal, Hameed, an acquaintance and distant relative of the complainant, was attacked around 7.45pm.
As per the complaint, Hameed visited a canteen where the complainant worked and was having a cold drink while speaking on the phone. At that time, two unidentified individuals arrived on a bike. One of them allegedly attacked Hameed with a sword, causing bleeding to his left arm.
After being attacked, Hameed screamed and ran away, and the assailants fled the scene on the same bike. Hameed was rushed to a nearby hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for further medical care. Following the incident, a case was registered at Bantwal Town police station under sections 118(1), 351(3), 109 along with 3(5) of the BNS. An investigation is ongoing.
