The Chase quizmaster Anne Hegerty left four hopefuls red-faced on Monay's episode of the ITV game how (September 29) after issuing a scathing six-word dig just minutes in. Tony, Lauryn, Sian and Chris were all welcomed by host Bradley Walsh as they took their chance at winning some cash. Player Lauryn was seen banking just £1k in her cash builder round, and even Bradley made the decision to "allow" her answer, making the £1k even less impressive.

But when Lauryn took her turn against Anne, also known as 'the Governess', she made a scathing dig. Despite offering Lauryn a minus £1k offer, Lauryn declared she would have more respect for herself losing the £1k than going for a minus offer. Anne then said in response: "I don't have much respect for any of you, but I do have some respect for you."

Fans chimed in commenting: "omg lol when anne said i don't have any respect for any of you that was savage."

Lauryn did manage to bank the £1k, but she caused a stir with fans with her very forward personality.

The Civil Servant admitted to Bradley that she enjoyed weight training in her spare time, and offered to "bench press The Beast" live on TV, suggesting viewers would be happy to pay to watch it.

"did she actually offer to bench press the Beast or are my ears deceiving me?" blasted one fan. Another penned: "She's incredibly cute, but also incredibly annoying"

Even chaser Anne chimed in with a joke, adding: "Anne "You like lifting deadweights? Try lifting him"

Elsewhere, Sian didn't bring much hope to the team when she only scores £2k in her cash builder round.

She was offered £1k for her low offer and much to viewers dismay, she decided to take it. Fans immediatley slammed the decision, blasting it "a joke".

"£2K Cashbuilder and she has taken the £1K Low Offer with everyone else on her team suggesting it! What a joke this show has become!" Another blasted: "These contestants look like they are all going to take the Low Offer for some reason!"

But the boys had more success at the table, with Chris banking a respectable £7k and Tony and impressive £9k.

The team managed to answer just 18 questions right in the final chase, with Anne hot on their heels.

The Governess was on top form and she stormed towards her target, beating them with a staggering 24 questions to spare.

"Feel sorry for the guys," said one fan. "18 is never enough. Well done Anne. Unlucky team," penned another.
