One star of Strictly Come Dancing broke down in tears on Saturday evening after she felt disappointed in her dance. Actress Alex Kingston and Johannes Radebe took on the Paso Doble to Jamie Texidor's Amparito Roca but the judges quickly picked up on a lack of confidence and insecurity - which the TV star later attributed to a diagnosed condition.

The number that they performed to had a lack of lyrics - something which made it much harder for Alex. And her nervousness was more than evident to the judging panel, made up of Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Head Judge Shirley Ballas. "You don't need to be insecure, we just need the old Alex back," said Motsi. Shirley said that it "lacked passion and fire" but the technicality and skill was "one of the best". Anton also picked up on the nervousness as he reassured them that they are "fabulous". Craig also noted "tense shoulders".

After hearing the judge's criticisms, Alex then opened up to host Claudia Winkleman. She explained that the problem was the lack of lyrics in the song as she found it difficult to count.

Becoming emotional and wiping away tears, she explained: "The thing is, I'm numerically dyslexic so I can't count. And that's quite difficult."

The TV star wiped away tears as her co-stars enveloped her in a huge hug. Claudia exclaimed: "I don't want you to be sad because you are fabulous!"

She added: "The thing is you're not supposed to love every dance." Alex replied: "No, but I should love this one because it's drama. But I'm used to dancing to lyrics and I didn't know that I can't do that."

With her voice cracking and her eyes filling up with tears once more, the actress told herself: "It's fine, it's fine."

Despite the upset, the dancing duo scored a 7 from Craig, an 8 from Motsi, a 7 from Shirley and 8 from Anton giving them an overall score of 30.

Fans at home were heartbroken watching Alex be so upset. On Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Alex crying absolutely broke my heart #Strictly."

Another said: "The way Claudia got them all to group Alex was just lovely #Strictly," while a third posted: "I just want to give my queen Alex Kingston the biggest hug seeing her crying and upset wasn't easy."
