
A stretch of the M60 has been shut this morning, with long delays for motorists during a "police incident". Traffic had been stopped in both directions between junction 6, for Sale, and junction 8, for Carrington on the motorway. The clockwise stretch of the road is still closed, with a diversion currently in place.
Greater Manchester Police said they are dealing with a "concern for welfare incident". There are currently "severe delays", according to traffic service Inrix. Traffic on the clockwise side is stretching back to junction 25 for Brinnington in Stockport. On the clockwise side, congestion is stretching back to junction 12 (Eccles Interchange).
