Good Morning Britain halted for huge Angela Rayner update as ITV fans rage

More bad news was delivered for Angela Rayner on Good Morning Britain on Friday. The Deputy Prime Minister and Housing Secretary has been under scrutiny this week after it came to light that she had not paid enough tax when purchasing an £800,000 flat in Hove earlier this summer.

Arrangements on her family home in Greater Manchester meant she should have paid a higher rate. She has branded her actions as a "mistake", blaming it on initial legal advice that failed to "properly take account" of the situation. Rayner says she has now contacted HMRC to work out the tax she needs to pay, and referred herself for investigation by the PM's standards adviser. The decision from the board into whether Angela broke the ministerial code when she underpaid Stamp Duty by £40,000 is expected today - which should lead to a decision from the Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, about whether or not to keep her in office.
