Escape to the Country star's forgotten appearance in major BBC drama unveiled

star Alistair Appleton is a well-known for his hosting roles on the hit property show its celebrity edition and Cash in the Attic.

However, he's also made a guest appearance on a highly popular BBC drama. Back in 2006, the property expert featured in an episode of

His brief stint was during the time when David Tennant was playing the role of the Tenth Doctor in an episode titled Army of Ghosts

Viewers would've briefly seen the 55-year-old, play himself in the instalment as he presented the fictional programme, Ghostwatch.

The scene showcased Alistair reporting on the supernatural events that were unfolding in the show where ghosts were starting to appear in London and around the world.

Doctor Who fans watched as Alistair was relaying information about the paranormal activities.

He could be heard saying: "In today's Ghostwatch, claims that some of the ghost's are starting to talk and there seems to be a regular formation gathering around Westminster bridge. It's almost like a military display."

While he was sharing the news bulletin, the Time Lord was seen watching the announcement, perplexed alongside his companion Rose Tyler (played by Billie Piper) and her mother Jackie (portrayed by Camille Coduri).

During the programme, stars like Trisha Goddard and Most Haunted's Derek Acorah also made cameo appearances.

More recently, the BBC star shared that new episodes of Escape to the Country were airing, which he filmed in 2024.

On Instagram, Alistair posted some snaps alongside the couples he was helping find their dream home.

He wrote: "Brand-new episode of Escape to the Country today on BBC iPlayer or on your BBC one regular television.

"It was a lovely sunny week we spent in Dorset last year finding these lovely folks a dream home by the sea. I also got to have a bath outside."
