A bombshell from Dating Naked UK has opened up on some behind-the-scenes secrets as the controversial show makes its return to our screens.
Rylan Clark made a comeback last month with a brand new season, featuring a fresh batch of singles stripping off in their quest for love. The show, which airs weekly episodes on Paramount+, has already delivered plenty of drama in just four instalments.
From harsh rejections and"mortifying" moments to a terrifying accident forcing an early departure, viewers have seen it all. This week (5 September) introduced new faces, including a star from Dreamboys.
Ryan Kendall made a dramatic entrance on the show, interrupting Matt and Dom's date by swooping in on a zip wire.
This followed house drama as Keir was spotted kissing Matt just as Dom and Ryan returned. Speaking exclusively to Reach PLC's Screen Time team, Ryan revealed some lesser-known facts about the programme, reports the Daily Star.
When invited to join the cast, the Dreamboys icon jumped at the opportunity to forge new relationships. But here are some things you may not know, including strict phone rules and hacks on how they told the time.
The burning question on everyone's lips is whether contestants are naked all the time. Ryan confirmed that they indeed are.
He said: "The main thing for me is being naked and how fast you get used to it, straight away in the first ten minutes you see everyone is naked and after ten minutes you don't realise at all, it's like being fully clothed."
He added: "You are naked all of the time, there's certain things like when welfare come in where you need to do certain procedures to hide it but yeah you're naked mostly all the time, it's amazing."
Ryan confessed the luxurious villa felt "surreal", though certain areas remain off-limits. He said: "Being in the house, it's just surreal.
"The house is surreal, being in an absolute mansion, it's stunning. Certain rooms you can't go in, certain rooms are locked so even in the places you are allowed to go, it's surreal."
Nevertheless, he revealed the pool, whilst appearing gorgeous on television, is actually "freezing".
This revelation might shock viewers, but contestants aren't permitted their mobile phones or any outside contact, apart from show personnel.
Ryan said he felt "gutted" being separated from his phone, describing it as his "whole life" as he explained: "It's like I lost my left leg.
"You're not allowed your phone and you're not allowed to know the time at all. We had to go back to the olden days and judge where the sun is in the sky to know the time. It's a crazy experience but a nice detox as well."
With constant nudity, Ryan confirmed cameras are always ecording, positioned on walls or ceilings as he explained: "There's many cameras in there so you're quite aware (of them). The scariest part is when you're sitting there or lying in bed and this camera turns and there's a light in your face.
"But yeah you are aware of the cameras. You tend to forget about them at most points if I'm honest because obviously you get so used to them being there but there's many cameras dotted around the house that's spinning all the time, so you do notice them. They're so clear as well on TV."

Ryan also mentioned the presence of camera crews for capturing significant moments and television inserts: "Camera crews are there sometimes for inserts, for example before the break or trying to portray certain storylines or cut scenes but the whole edit, on the whole, is from the main house cameras."
Speaking about the authenticity of the drama and high tensions, Ryan confirmed that everything viewers see on the show is real, including the arguments. He said: "It's very genuine, that's what I love about episodes one and two, I wasn't in the house then but watching it back, every bit of drama that I went into was all real.
"It's crazy because I didn't know what happened, I was trying to work out where the drama was coming from and watching it back now I know. There's still conversations, some bits they may not put in, but it's genuine all the way through.
"Some programmes these days are very fabricated, this one wasn't."
Regarding the welfare of the cast, Ryan revealed that they are constantly supported by welfare teams from before the show, to after. He said he is still contacted now to see how he is.
He said: "There's so much support behind it. Before I went on we had chats with executives, welfare teams and mental health experts and there was so much support. Even in the house, you always had daily welfare checks as well, literally supportive all the way through even now I'm getting calls every week ensuring I'm okay.
"I'm naked all the time for my job anyway, it's still a different sort of naked, but there's people who've never been naked that long so it's great to see them so supportive and so caring as well even after the show."
Staff are also available to supply sun cream and essentials.
