Beau Greaves' stance on becoming first woman to play in Premier League Darts

Beau Greaves has admitted she wouldn't turn down the opportunity to play in Premier League Darts next year if she's sent an invitation to enter the competition. The 21-year-old has dominated women's darts in recent years and defeated blockbuster star Luke Littler last month.

Greaves has won 18 darts titles and is unbeaten in her last 86 matches on the PDC Women's Series. In October, she stunned Littler in the World Youth Championship semi-finals as she sent the teenage sensation crashing out and denied him the chance to play in two finals in two different events on the same evening.

Greaves' impressive performances have led to calls for her to be included in the 2026 Premier League Darts event.

The competition features the top four players in the world as well as four wildcard entries and is played in various cities across Europe on Thursday evenings between February and May.

Before that event, the Doncaster thrower is due to appear at the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace over the festive period.

And discussing the prospect of playing in the Premier League, the talented ace told Darts Now: "I can't imagine I would get into the Premier League unless I did have a crazy run [at the World Championship]. But I wouldn't say no.

"It's maybe a little bit much for me, that. But it'd make it a bit exciting, wouldn't it? People go on about the Premier League and it being a bit flat and boring. But I always end up watching it every week.

"It would be amazing to play in it but I don't think I'd deserve it considering all the other players that could get in. But it's nice that people say good things about me - I think it's dead sweet."

Five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld led the calls for Greaves' Premier League inclusion, with the Dutchman explaining: "First of all, I'm so proud of her, you know, what she is doing.

"She's beaten me 6-4. She beat Luke Littler in the semi-finals of the World Youth Championship. That says it all - in the last leg, an 11-dart finish. How great is that? And trust me, she's going to cause trouble next year on the ProTour.

"She beat an opponent 6-0 with a 106 average just before she played me. So you can say, 'Yeah, a woman', but she's quality. And she does her country proud, and her family, and herself. If she does well in the World Championship, I can guarantee you she'll get a Premier League ticket."

And reacting to Van Barneveld's comments, Greaves added: "Obviously I've watched all these players growing up and so it's nice."
