Indian tourist Bus attack in Nepal: Amid the ongoing violent protests in Nepal, a bus carrying Indian pilgrims was attacked in the capital Kathmandu. Anti-social elements pelted stones at the bus carrying pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh, broke windows and looted passengers' bags, cash and mobiles. Seven to eight passengers were injured in this attack.

However, later the Nepali Army reached the spot and handled the situation and rescued the tourists safely. The Indian government arranged for all the passengers to return from Kathmandu to Delhi by air. Security vigilance has also been increased across the border amid rising tension in Nepal.

Attack in Kathmandu

According to Kathmandu police and local sources, the pilgrims were returning after visiting Pashupatinath temple when the bus was attacked. The windows of the bus were broken due to stone pelting and the attackers looted bags, cash and mobile phones from the passengers. Seven-eight people were injured during the attack.

Feedback from bus staff and passengers

Shyamu Nishad, an employee of the bus, told the Times of India that the injured passengers were helped by Nepal Army personnel. Driver Raj, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, said the attack happened while he was returning to India. The bus reached Uttar Pradesh at the Sonauli border, where the damaged bus was inspected.

Quick response from Indian government

After this horrific incident, the Indian government took immediate action and arranged for the safe return of all Indian pilgrims stranded in Kathmandu. The Indian Embassy and local authorities worked together to ensure that the pilgrims were airlifted to Delhi as soon as possible and did not face any additional danger.

Special arrangements were made to provide safety and relief to the passengers and their families. First aid was provided to the injured passengers and officials maintained constant contact to provide mental support to all.

Growing tension and security alert in Nepal

Political violence and protests are increasing continuously in Nepal. The attack in Kathmandu has also alerted India's border security. A high alert has been issued in the border districts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. The authorities have increased security to prevent any untoward incident or illegal activities across the border.
