A new Netflix documentary sees Hollywood icon Charlie Sheen tell all about his rollercoaster life and career.
The actor, who became the highest paid star during his time on sitcom Two and a Half Men, opens up on some of the toughest chapters in his life and even addresses some rumours for the first time.
According to its synopsis, the doc promises to show Charlie Sheen as you've never seen him, with seven hard-fought years of sobriety behind him as he finally leaves it all on the table, and revisits the very public peaks and valleys of his life with humour, heart, and jaw-dropping candour.

Released earlier this week, the film, released in two parts clocking in at around three hours runtime, is surging up Netflix's charts. At the time of writing, it has become the third most watched film among UK users in just 24 hours.
While the film involves archive footage as well as extensive conversations with Charlie himself, a number of people close to the star are also involved. This includes two of his wives, Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller.
HIs former Two and A Half Men co-star Jon Cryer also appears although he admits he wasn't sure he would participate. As does his friends, comedian Chris Tucker and fellow actor Sean Penn.
Sibling Ramon Estevez and two of Charlie's children also speak about their relationships with him. However, there are family members who are notably missing.

These are his father and successful movie star in his own right Martin Sheen and his other brother Emilio Estevez. Both declined to take part in the Netflix documentary.
Charlie himself mentions their absence in the documentary, and alludes to their reason for not wanting to appear. He tells the camera: "Emilio and Dad, they fully support me. They’re rooting for me in ways you can’t even imagine. But I can’t expect people to revisit all the drug abuse and all the s****y choices that hurt the people I love. Would I love them both in this? Absolutely. But I completely understand why they chose not to.”
The documentary shows some of these times which may be emotionally difficult for some to revisit. This includes the times Martin Sheen held press conferences in an attempt to get his son to enter rehab for his drug addiction. It's understandable some may find it difficult to revisit an emotionally painful time.
Charlie's relationship with his dad and brother seems to be in a much better place now. He ensures the documentary ends with a tribute to his father. He says near the end: "I can’t imagine being my dad. I can’t even imagine it. We banged heads a lot over the years. We haven’t for a long time. We came to a place that’s been beautiful. It has been nourishing. If I could put it into one word: gratitude.”
During this clips are shown of Charlie and Martin Sheen appearing in the sitcom Spin City together. Their characters even tell each other how much they love each other.
As for Emilio, he has recently helped his brother promote the Netflix documentary and memoir. He talked to him for a piece in Interview Magazine.
In their lengthy chat, the pair talk about their love for the movie Jaws and its 50th anniversary and also find time for inside jokes by quoting their father's classic war movie Apocalypse Now by ending with deciding who will pick up something for their mother before family dinner that evening.
Emilio also gives another hint why he may have not appeared in the doc as he tells his brother at one point: "Celebrity documentaries are like social media pages on steroids, that’s how I see them anyway. I think it’s important to know that the object of the documentary most often doesn’t get to have final cut before it hits the airwaves."
