Two bodies found at property in search for 'missing woman' as cops launch probe into mystery

Two bodies have been found after police launched an appeal for a "missing woman" in Leeds. yesterday discovered the bodies of a man and a woman at a property in Leeds after launching an appeal for a missing woman.

An investigation has been launched after cops labelled the deaths mysterious. Detectives could be seen scouring the residence in Dawlish Road, where patrol cars and a forensic van were seen parked along the street. A forensic tent can also be seen erected at the entrance to a block of flats. Police say they're currently piecing together the "circumstances of what has occurred".

The police found themselves at the property as part of a investigation. Enquiries "remain ongoing today by detectives", police have said.

In a short statement, West Yorkshire Police said: "Police attended at a flat on Dawlish Road, Leeds during the evening of Tuesday, May 29, after receiving a missing person's report for a woman.

"Officers entered the address and found the bodies of a man and woman inside. Enquiries remain ongoing today by detectives to determine the circumstances of what has occurred."

Residents have spoken out of their shock after learning of the deaths. Among them was Sandra, who said: "It’s really sad. You don’t expect something like that to happen. It’s a nice community and a safe environment. This kind of report doesn’t make you feel safe any more. It’s kind of scary.”

Valerie said: "Neighbours told me about two bodies being found. It’s quite disturbing something has happened when we live close by. We have been living here for less than a year now."

A man called Williams said he was shocked to hear two people had died. “Oh my goodness," he said. "I live here and am very shocked what is happening here.”

Valswyn, a man who lives nearby, said: “My wife told me two people had been found dead. I’ve never seen anyone going in or out of that house. The streets are becoming scary. I have been living here one year.

"Personally I have never seen any crimes on the street. This was quite unexpected.”

But others were not surprised to hear the bodies had been found. One man, who did not want to be named, said: "“It's rough as toast round here. This is not the first time something like this has happened.”
