Oasis musician Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs has revealed that he's been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The 60-year-old shared his diagnosis with fans in a post on X this evening, revealing that he'll be missing several legs of the Oasis tour for cancer treatment.
He wrote on X: "Early this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The good news is I'm responding really well to treatment, which meant I could be part of this incredible tour. Now, I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so I'll be missing the gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney.
"I'm really sad to be missing these shows but l'm feeling good and will be back ready to go in time for South America. Have an amazing time if you're going this month and I'll see you back onstage with the band in November.”

In a statement, Oasis said: "Wishing you all the best with your treatment Bonehead - we'll see you back on stage in South America." A source close to Oasis also told the Mirror: "The band have known about the diagnosis from the outset and were fully behind Bonehead. Of course they wanted him to play the tour, but also Liam and Noel were clear his health comes first.
"It is great he has played most of the shows and should only miss a few dates. Nothing is 100% confirmed but it is likely someone will be filling in for Bonehead on rhythm guitar for the dates he can't play."
The 60-year-old is credited with helping reuniting brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher and the band for the sell out tour they are currently playing.
Early on the tour Noel Gallagher praised Bonehead and confirmed the guitarist and close friend is one of the main reasons Oasis are back together.
The band played two sensational comeback shows in Cardiff to kickstart the tour, their first gigs for almost 16 years.Rumours had buzzed about who helped mend Noel and Liam Gallagher’s relationship.
But on stage for the second night of the comeback tour, Noel introduced the band, whilst also joking about the high turnover of drummers Oasis had in the past. Noel said: “On drums, our 13th official drummer Joey Waronker. On guitar, if it wasn’t for him none of this would have f**king happened in the first place, Mr Bonehead.”
Bonehead, revealed in April 2022 he had been diagnosed with tonsil cancer. In September of the same year he wrote: "I had a full scan 10 days ago and it's all clear, it's gone... Into recovery now and see you all soon."
Earlier this year, Bonehead left Oasis fans in stitches as he replied to a fan on X. After tweeting, "It's gettin better man," amid the Oasis tour, Bonehead received a reply from one fan, who wrote: "Same setlist as every other night."
Bonehead came back with just one word that delighted other fans, writing: "And????" Others rallied around him, with one fan writing: "Setlist is almost perfect. Why change it." Another replied: "Agreed! Only thing that would make it better is Columbia."
