Coronation Street fans 'solve which past character is Lauren's real dad'

Some fans are convinced one character from the show's past will be revealed as Lauren Bolton's real dad.

Lauren found out in a recent episode that her father Reece Bolton was not her biological dad. He claimed another man had fathered Lauren, and he never told her the truth.

But amid the random storyline and Corrie airing the bombshell, fans are now suspecting there is significance to this. They think Lauren's dad will show up or might be a familiar face.

The latest name thrown into the rumour mill to be revealed as Lauren's real dad is none other than Peter Barlow. Carla Connor's ex left the show in 2023 for a new life away from Weatherfield.

Actor Chris Gascoyne departed the role after more than 20 years, while it was teased whether or not he may return in the future. Now fans are wondering if he will be exposed as Lauren's dad, possibly paving the way for a return.

Reece had told Lauren that her mother had claimed her real dad was likely someone they knew from the fair. He called him a Shakin' Stevens lookalike but did not give a name.

It comes after fans questioned if Lauren had a secret sister who was already on the show. There's nothing to suggest from Corrie themselves that we will meet Lauren's real dad or her secret family.

But fans wondered if recent scenes hinted that Betsy Swain was Lauren's secret sibling. Betsy was introduced as the teenaged daughter of detective Lisa Swain and her late wife Becky last year on the soap.

The identity of Betsy's biological father has never been revealed, and details around Betsy have also not been mentioned that fully. It's known that he is not a part of Betsy's life, and it's likely that he was a donor with no plan to be involved with her upbringing, with Becky and Lisa being her parents.

But it hasn't stopped fans speculating over the paternity of Betsy, convinced Corrie will bring him into the show at some point, if he isn't already on the street. Now the scenes with Lauren have left some viewers wondering if there's a link, after Lauren's comment about finding her family on the street.

The theory suggests new pals Lauren and Betsy will find out they are sisters, following Lauren finding out a mystery man she doesn't know is her real father. The theory questions whether Lauren will uncover her real dad's identity, and it will turn out he is also the father of Betsy.
