TV actress Hunar Hali, known for her performances in shows like Chhal: Sheh Aur Maat and Thapki Pyar Ki, is outraged after a private moment of hers was captured and made viral without her consent. A video from a beauty salon event — where Hunar was present as a celebrity guest — surfaced on Instagram, drawing unwanted attention and accusations of it being a "publicity stunt." The actress, who has built her career over 15 years, firmly rejected these allegations in an exclusive conversation with TV9 Hindi Digital.
"No One Has the Right to Invade My Privacy"Fuming over the invasion of her personal space, Hunar said:
“I strongly condemn this act. I didn’t give anyone the right to shoot and upload my private moments. Who authorized them to do this?”
Describing the incident, Hunar explained that she was wearing a halter top and trousers — standard city attire — when a wardrobe adjustment was misinterpreted and filmed secretly, with the footage later zoomed and shared online without her knowledge.
"Stop Calling It a Publicity Stunt"“This is Mumbai, a metropolitan city. Yet someone found it appropriate to secretly film and post a video of me adjusting my top padding. How is that justified?”
What hurt Hunar even more was that some media outlets she trusted accused her of staging the video for publicity.
"I have worked with these people for years, and today they are calling it a publicity stunt? Shameful."
She revealed that she personally reached out to several Instagram pages and media channels, requesting the video’s removal. While some cooperated, others refused, prioritizing views and engagement over respect for her dignity.
"Judge the Media, Not the Victim"Hunar emphasized that her reputation was built purely on her acting work, not through cheap publicity tactics.
"If a few actors seek fame through such gimmicks, it doesn’t mean everyone does. You can't blame the entire fraternity because of a few."
She called for introspection within the media community, urging them to question the ethics of those who exploit private moments for viral content, rather than targeting victims like her.
