The Onam fever is on, and fans have flocked to theatres. The Malayalam film industry is witnessing the reunion of veteran director Sathyan Anthikad and superstar Mohanlal in Hridayapoorvam, nearly a decade after their last collaboration. The family entertainer, which also stars Malavika Mohanan in a lead role, finally arrived in theatres today, August 28, 2025. The film opened on a good note, receiving positive reviews from the audience.

Sathyan Anthikad and Mohanlal are a legendary duo known for delivering timeless Malayalam classics. Their earlier films such as T.P. Balagopalan M.A., Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam, and Rasathanthram continue to be cherished by fans. With Hridayapoorvam, expectations are naturally high as fans await another heartwarming story filled with the director's signature mix of humour, emotion, and life lessons. Fans can't stop hooting at Mohanlal's intro card featuring all the iconic films. Hailing the combo of Mohanlal and Sathyan, another shared that it's a well-written drama that strikes the right balance, it avoids unnecessary drama, doesn’t feel stretched, and stays grounded without going over the top. The performances are convincing, the narrative flows smoothly, and both the background music and visuals are perfectly aligned with the film’s tone. A solid watch that’s definitely worth recommending. Gave it a 3.5 stars.




Lauding the performances, another chimed in and shared that the first half is excellent, packed with nonstop energy from start to finish. The standout is the combo of Lalettan and Sangeeth, which brings non-stop laughter and keeps the audience thoroughly entertained. It's a great mix of humour, charm, and pure fun.


Another netizen shared that it's the most satisfying Sathyan Anthikad film they've seen in a long time. They praised the movie for its fun-filled moments, especially highlighting the chemistry between Mohanlal and Sangeeth Prathap, which added a lot of humour. Also appreciated the emotional depth of the story, strong dialogues, and standout performances by Mohanlal, Malavika Mohanan, and Sangitha.

On the technical front, the film's story is by Akhil Sathyan and its screenplay and dialogues are by Sonu TP. Cinematography for the film is by Anu Moothedath and music is by Tamil film music director Justin Prabhakaran. The film, which is being produced by well known producer Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas, is slated to hit screens on August 28 this year.
