"Punjab's resources used for Arvind Kejriwal, fund AAP campaigns," says BJP's Jaiveer Shergill

New Delhi [India], October 26 (ANI): BJP National Spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill alleged that "Punjab resources have been used to fund the Aam Aadmi Party campaigns", and restoring the glory of the border State is "not the priority" of the AAP.
In a conversation with ANI, Jaiveer Shergill said that the vote share of the AAP has come down from 42 per cent in the 2022 Punjab assembly elections to 26 per cent in the 2024 general elections.
The BJP leader also slammed the AAP government for allegedly neglecting the drug menace.
"A drug in high volume and high quantity is caught at the port by the central agencies. How come Gujarat is not impacted by the drug problem? Because there is a strong state BJP government as well. It takes two to tango. Now, the Aam Aadmi Party... has not come out of its theatrics, drama, and blame-game mode. It is, the fingers are always like this. So, the four are on your side too," Jaiveer Shergill added.

"It was their priority to come to power through deception. Behkake satta mein ana. And today you will see, you asked a very good question, why there is no Aam Aadmi Party. Today, solving Punjab's problem or restoring Punjab's glory is not the priority of the Aam Aadmi Party. It's a classic case of misplaced priority. You will see, it will be a repeat of Delhi. 42% was the vote share in the (2022) Punjab assembly elections. It remained 26% in the (2024) Lok Sabha (poll), while falling," Jaiveer Shergill said, alluding to the possibility of the BJP coming to power in the next assembly polls in Punjab.
"Punjab treasury, Punjab resources have been only being used as a Seher Sapata hub for Arvind Kejriwal. Tour and travel program of Arvind Kejriwal. Private jet for Arvind Kejriwal. Punjab treasury is being used to fund Punjab AAP campaigns. And that is a sad tragedy," he alleged

The BJP leader recalled the AAP Punjab campaign song to remind them of their poll promises and noted it as his moral responsibility to prod the AAP government in Punjab to "wake up" to the ground realities.
"AAP came with the slogan, Ek Mokka Punjabnu. AAPnu. Give us one chance. Ek Mokka AAPnu. In Punjabi, we say, Leave the Mokka, they gave Hawke. Jhatke. I, as a Punjabi, consider it more important for Kumkaran Sarkar to wake up. So, that is the reality," Jaiveer Shergill added.
AAP was voted out of power in the National Capital after losing the 2024 Assembly elections, and the BJP returned to power after more than two decades.
BJP won 48 seats in a historic mandate, ending over 10 years rule of the Kejriwal government. The AAP won just 22 seats against 62 in 2020 assembly polls while the Congress failed to win a single seat for the third time in a row. (ANI)
